I'm Jessica Sackett. I am just starting out in coaching and I am looking to work with foster parents and other parents who are at risk of losing their children. I am a foster parent myself and have seen and experienced struggles without any support.

I sought a life coach, and we got "unstuck" on some personal growth issues for me. I moved forward, got my Life Coaching Certification, and listened and followed what I felt was God's leading, His timing, etc. But now that I have moved back to the states from the other side of the world, I feel stuck again. I don't have work, my husband is not joining me, so I'm trying to figure things out on my own. He may join me later, but for now, I feel like I'm in a dark quiet hole. I am praying, seeking, obviously which is why your blog crossed my path. Thanks for sharing your story - and please pray for me if the Lord brings me to mind. Thank you.

Thank you for this series. It is insightful!
In this post you refer to setting "clear series goals." I think I can guess what that is, but I have not heard of a specific model called "series goals" and I wonder if you are talking about a specific tool or if you just mean something like creating goals that have milestones.

Keith,

I really appreciate your article on status-based social structure and coaching. Although Brazil is quickly updating in many areas (including in the area of professional coaching), I have also run into similar situations in training events with Brazilian "peers" (church-planting and leadership-development roles). The expectation seems to be that the teacher, leader, pastor, missionary...give conclusive answers. Something I've intuitively avoided for many years.

Yet only more recently have been discovering how coaching really applies. I look forward to tracking with your blog in this are of cross-cultural coaching.

We live and minister in Thailand. One of our goals is to equip local churches in community transformation. Seminars and teaching sessions have been held for pastors and churches but what they really need is for someone to come alongside and coach them in the process. We are hoping to help with that but would like further training as coaches. Can you advise us? What steps should we take (possible certification).
I am currently working through the book and the CD set to 'Leadership Coaching'. Excellent stuff and we think the missing link to make teaching or training more applicable to people.
Thank you.
