Google Your Niche Market by Marcie Thomas
Dec 6th, 2010 | By Tony Stoltzfus | Category: Web Marketing Guest PostsWant to know where your niche or target market is located at online? You can find gobs of folks on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Yahoo groups. Become a member of each, complete your profile and search for connections, answer questions that are posted, pose questions, and start discussions within each of these applications. Here are three additional ways that you can find your online audience; Google search for twitter account, Google search for blogs and using Google Alert.
Lets say your target market is engineers. Use Google to find twitter accounts for engineers. In the search field enter : intext:”bio * engineer” site:twitter.com and watch as all the listings for engineers who have a twitter account are listed. If you’re looking for lawyers use this search criteria: intitle:”lawyer” site:twitter.com.
Another method for finding your target niche is to find the blogs where your target niche is located. Use Google to narrow the search like this: blog + your niche keywords so that its blog + engineer. Once you find where the engineers are located, you can comment on articles that are already posted or submit your own article to their blog. With each connection you make be sure to mention your free offer for people who visit your website.
Another method is to set up a Google Alert. Get daily emails from Google based on your keywords. Visit http://www.google.com/alerts. Enter the key words that people would enter to describe their needs/problems/solutions. For instance I use the following keywords: Coachingshift, christian life coaching business. Google Alerts will help you see the impact you have and others have online by listing links to article posts, blog posts, press releases, etc.
